Complete OS › Meal planner
Decide once what you eat this week.
The Kitchen in Complete OS holds your recipes, lays them across the week, and sends each recipe's ingredients to your grocery list in one tap. Then it hands the plan to your Daily Brief, so "what is for dinner?" is already answered by the time you ask it.
Why meal planning fails as a separate app
The plan lives in one app, the shopping list in another, the reminder to defrost something in a third — and none of them know you are working late Thursday. Complete OS keeps the recipes, the week, and the list together, and puts the day's meal into the same brief that knows your calendar.
Your recipe library
Save the meals you actually cook, with ingredients and steps. Plan from your own library instead of scrolling a feed of things you will never make.
A weekly plan in minutes
Drop recipes onto the days of the week. Repeat last week, swap a night, leave a night open — the plan is a grid, not a commitment.
Grocery list in one tap
Send a recipe's ingredients to the grocery list in one tap; anything already on the list is skipped. Check items off in the store and the list stays in sync across your devices.
Meal nudges on your hours
Meal reminders pace to your waking hours, not a fixed breakfast-lunch-dinner clock — if you wake at 4pm for a night shift, "breakfast" is at 4pm.
Thanksgiving, from the shop to the last leftover
One big dinner is really a week of meals: the shopping before, the cooking on the day, and the leftovers after. Plan it the way you plan any week in the Kitchen.
The dinner and the days after
Put the big meal in Thursday's dinner slot, then name the leftover meals for the days after — turkey sandwiches Friday, soup Saturday. A slot holds a saved recipe or just a name, so leftovers need no recipe.
Every dish feeds one list
Save each dish as a recipe, or paste a recipe link to fill it in, then send its ingredients to the grocery list in one tap. An item already on the list, written the same way, is not added twice.
One list for the whole household
Join a household and the grocery list is shared live: whoever remembers the cranberries adds them, and check-offs in the store show up for everyone. Planned meals can be shared with the household too.
Working the holiday
Plan the meal on the day you actually sit down to eat it. Complete OS anchors your day to when you wake, so meal reminders land in your day, not at a fixed 6pm.
Meals that know your calendar, budget, and habits
When the meal plan lives beside your calendar and budget, the Daily Brief can do the connecting: tonight's recipe surfaces at the right time, a grocery trip lands in your food budget, and a "cook at home" habit gets its check-off from the plan. That is the difference between a recipe app and a life that runs.
Frequently asked questions
Can I plan Thanksgiving dinner and the leftovers after it?
Yes. Put the dinner in Thursday's dinner slot and name leftover meals for the days that follow. A slot can hold a saved recipe or just a name like "turkey soup", and you can plan up to two weeks ahead.
Can my family share one Thanksgiving grocery list?
Yes. Create or join a household in Settings, and the grocery list is shared with everyone in it, whether an item was typed in or sent from a recipe; check-offs sync live, so two people can shop the same list in different aisles.
I work on Thanksgiving. Can I plan the big meal around my shift?
Yes. Plan it for whatever day you actually eat it — the night before, or the day after your shift. Complete OS anchors your day to when you wake, so meal reminders follow your hours instead of a 9-to-5 clock.
Can I add my own recipes, or only pick from a catalog?
Your own. The Kitchen is built around a personal recipe library — the meals you cook, with your ingredients and notes — and the week is planned from that.
How do recipes get onto the grocery list?
Open a recipe and send all its ingredients to the list in one tap; items already on it are skipped. Do that for each recipe on the week's plan and one shop covers the week. You can add anything else by hand.
Does it track calories or macros?
Yes, simply. Each recipe can hold calories, protein, carbs and fat per serving: type them in, scan a nutrition label or barcode, or keep what a recipe link brings in. A custom meal can carry its own numbers too. When you mark a meal eaten, it counts toward the Today screen's daily totals, with optional daily targets. It is not a food database: you won't search thousands of foods or log snacks by the gram.
